Troubleshooting your connection

01

Start with the connection

  1. Open the guide for your exact board.
  2. Check that each USB cable carries data.
  3. Confirm the board appears in Windows Device Manager.
  4. Wait for Connected in Knife.Baby’s board card.
02

Single-PC mouse issues

Check the mouse is connected to the shield or board’s USB-A host port. For a Leonardo shield, check its power jumper against the manufacturer’s instructions. For the Feather RP2040 USB Host, repeat the BOOT/RESET sequence if flashing is not detected.

03

Dual-PC board issues

For a Leonardo, check TX → RX, RX → TX, GND → GND, and adapter signal compatibility. For a Due, check Programming → second PC and Native → gaming PC. Do not loop the board’s mouse-output connection back to the PC running Knife.Baby while Passthrough is enabled.

04

OBS / NDI discovery or stutter

Check DistroAV’s Main Output, private-network firewall permissions and Ethernet connections. Enter the gaming PC’s IP address manually if discovery fails. Lower OBS FPS until the stutter reading stays low.

05

Ask for help

Open a support ticket with your board model, setup mode, mouse model, Knife.Baby version, firmware version and exact error message. Include a clear photo of the wiring if relevant. Do not send passwords or license keys.
